Weapon implements lockdown
I wrote this piece after I noticed how much I was scrolling through social media, wanting to buy items my favorite influencers were wearing. This isn't just something that happens to me either, plenty of teenagers are swept up in social media viewing videos marketing a product. Often these products are overpriced and not worth the splurge. I asked students if they thought social media played a role in how their peers shop and how, I also asked about factors that go into purchases. I learned students emphasize the name of the brand more than the quality of the item.

Make it rain scholarships
This story was one for the Eagle's Eye website and also our school's yearbook. Each year Eisenhower's band wins high accolades for their performances and the music they make. In the interviews, I learned about how they come together as not only a team but as friends to create the type of environment for good music. Not only do they spend time inside of school together practicing and bonding, but they also take their bonds outside of school as well and stay in tune with each other.

Down the rabbit hole
This story is about teenagers addiction to social media and the grasp it has on our lives in multiple ways. I included Buying habits, mental health, body image, and decision making within the piece. The hardest part about writing this story was having to cut a lot of it down to put into print, as well as finding professional sources outside of my school. I overcame those challenges and even got to interview a Michigan State University professor Saleem Alhabash.

Groundbreaking day
To write this story I was able to leave school during fourth hour in order to experience the groundbreaking of the stadium. I was originally nervous to interview such an important figure to our school such as the Superintendent, but once I did the nerves faded.
